deazy
D Eazy born as Desiree Bard on March 28th to a single mother in Philadelphia PA began life through hard times as the second of three children. At a young age she taught herself how to draw after watching her mother doodle on a notepad, as well as harvesting the art of poetry. She was a model child by the age of seven, going to church and vacation bible school on her own and putting forth a great deal of effort in her schoolwork. But this young child, incabaple of knowing the poverty of her life, lost her mother at the age of 10 on easter night.
Adopted by her maternal grandmother, her life was flooded with sudden change, and she began to seclude herself away from others, seeking refuge in writing, drawing and other performing arts. Byt the age of 14 she mastered the art of recording on her own pc and began writing songs to any beats she could find, making her very versatile as a lyricist. Mainly labeled as a conscious lyricst than commercial, she designed her songs according to her life and experience.
A tomboy since her pre-adolescent years, Dez, was never taught to be anything but who she was. One of the hardest part in her life, aside from familial tragedy was the journey to being herself. The main thing about the music industry concerning her was image. She led a hard life which she describes as " living like a man" . By that she means she had hardship in establishing her independence and moved around a lot from place to place, and earned her money working in under the table jobs doing demolition( and many other hard labor jobs), and even sold drugs to support herself. She wanted people to see her for who she was and not some polished, prepped, watered down lyricist that the female mcs of today represent. Misconcieved is her image because of societies limitations put down by the sexually exploited female entertainer. She hopes to change the face of hip hop back to the days it was real.
D eazy began pursuing her career in music at age 16 but many situations held her back from making it big. Through years of verbal abuse and misunderstandings with her family she was forced into believing that college was the only way out and attended Hampton University for Broadcast Journalism, later dropping out and never going back. Since the year of 2003, D Eazy has been in New York City and has performed for many local talent showcases and even began working with artist/producer Kool Keith. After disappearing from one borough to the next she has done a showcase at the Iguana in NYC for Sony/Jive records, and was told to be "too hard" by certain A&Rs. Her determination not to sell out has made her become strictly a solo artist bound for big things.
