CJSnipes
CJ Snipes has been killing tracks all his life, but didn’t start recording until 2004. Growing up in a broken household where his father use to abused him and his mother, he knew that he was going to grow up and be different. After the divorce, CJ was kicked out of school because of his behavior, and forced to leave is sister and move to Laurel, where he would stay with his oldest sister, that he didn’t get along with until he got older. While staying at her house he was a very angry child that kept his feelings to himself, until he started writing everything that came to mind on paper, walls, books, cabinets, you name it was written, until he found a old tape recorder and started reading what he wrote on paper.
After a year he returned back to Brentwood, where he would attend Hyattsville Middle School. He didn’t have any friends when he came back but made a quick impact once word got around that he was back in town. Always been popular with a group of people he started hanging out with an older crowd once he got to Northwestern High School in 2000. Making poor decisions lead him to get arrested and locked up for a short time. Once he got out he, realized that he had to change the squares that was in his circle because he knew if he didn’t he would get arrested again or even worst, be stuck in Brentwood for the rest of his life so he decided to make a change.
Wasn’t until 2004 when CJ got a job at the local IHOP in College Park, where his music ability started to grow. Everybody that was staffed at IHOP did music in some form. So while customers were waiting for there food, all the employee’s that was associated with music would have a freestyle battle inside the kitchen during the work day. From IHOP CJ met up with a young engineer that had a studio inside his basement where he recorded his first mixtape “It’s Just Me C-Jeasy.” After that he started learning on his own different recording programs so he could benefit from them.
Knowing that he couldn’t depend on anyone but himself he started his own studio so he could record in his own. Now in 2008 CJ Snipes is under Nisha Management and his new mixtape “I LOVE CJ SNIPES,” will be ready for release the second week of February 2008.
