As a black man myself, I felt inclined to use the image as a reminder to others that the sacrifices made are being used in vain when we slain eachother in the streets that our children play in. We may be free in terms that slavery is abolished but the minds of our youth are still chained and that we cannot forget how far we have come but how much further we have to go to truly be united in our communities.
