I checked it and yeah there are alot of synths. But thats obviously your style. Nothing wrong with that. Do you think people tell the Alchemist (or any other producer who’s music is based on samples) that he uses too many samples. Maybe, but if they do he doesn’t give a shit. Do you. Every producer has their own production style, which defines them. That’s obviously your style and the beats (at least the one you put the link to) are dope. I like to bring unconventional samples to my beats (lots of dirty, grimy electronic samples). Some people aren’t feelin them, but lots are. I ain’t gonna change the way I do things cause %100 of people aren’t feelin my music. I may take some tips in terrms of eq, composition, etc, but my style is gonna stay the same. For every person that says you use too many synths, there are many other’s that like your beats the way they are. That is how hip hop evolves. Southern Hip Hop, Hyphy, etc is very different from your typical east or west coast music and that shit wouldn’t have became what it is today if the producers who are pioneers in those genres, listened to people saying they need to switch up their style to make it more similar to what is conventional. Keep doin your thang homie, just keep it original, like you already are doin. |
