OK, here’s the deal for the 15&counting competition. There are more details about the competition in the post below this, but I wanted to keep this top post simple.

Post a track on the site by the end of Sunday 13th of September. When you post a track, let me know and send it to me on kristikrisis@gmail.com. I’ll announce the judges a little later (they will be cool) and we’ll post the selected 5 tracks on Wednesday 16th September.

The track should relate to something that the 15&counting campaign is about – there are some ideas below. And it would be good if you could ask people to sign the petition and say the address for it (www.15andcounting.org) .

Tracks can be as long as you like, but it’s best if they are around 2.30-3.30. You can post as many entries as you like, but we’re aiming for radio quality, so make sure you’re on top of your game. Use any beat you like – I think it would be cool to bring back a beat from one of your best classic tracks on DT, but I’ll also be posting some beat suggestions below (feel free to post beat suggestions for people too…) Swear if you have to, but show respect.

BACKGROUND DETAILS 15&Counting covers all sorts of area to do with sexual health, and it’s different in each country that they work in – in some places they are fighting against child prostitution and forced marriage, and in others, trying to make kids aware of contraceptives and the dangers of sexually transmitted disease. You can get all the details of the campaign here http://www.15andcounting.org/blog/about/ but basically, they are getting governments to make good on their promises on sexual health 15 years ago, and they are using the petition to support that. So far we have 118,000 signatures and we want to get a bunch more. Will you please sign it at www.15andcounting.org

I’m part of a team supporting the promotion of the campaign in 180 countries around the world… there are people in each country promoting it – pushing online, in the press and on radio.

So I decided to do a little competition to get some quality tracks to send out to all the offices around the world and get the to use them to promote the cause. I’m hoping that radio coverage of the campaign will be backed up with the tracks we’re promoting. I don’t know exactly what we’ll get yet, but I know I’m talking to two big stations in London and there will be connections all over the world.

I’m currently speaking to a bunch of potential judges (we’ll get some names on this) and will be pushing this all over the place. We have a team on it! So I want you to use this as an opportunity to get yourself heard all over the world… you never know what might happen, where you’ll win new fans and connections!

The details of the competition are above… I have a handful of beats that people can us, which I’ll post links to below, later on. But I thought that it would be cool if you spit of a beat you know and love already – I really want to hear you at your best, so if that’s on an old beat, that’s fine.

You don’t have to stick to the themes exactly, but these are connected to 15 & Counting, so you should be in the area. You really wanna shout out to the campaign and mentioned the www.15andcoutning.org address, asking people to sign the petition.

Also, there have been some criticisms of the big charity behind 15 & Counting – see this old forum thread www.dopetracks.com/forums/4/topics/13712 if you want to see what drinkinstein is saying – obviously I disagree, but it’s only fair to give you all the info. They are pro choice when it comes to abortion, and they get a lot of criticism for that.
